Anti-theft Security Plugs are an alternative to the commonly used pentagon style bolt plugs seen on municipal service boxes and meter boxes. Security Plugs are available in brass. The tamper resistant heads have been specially designed and tested to prevent water theft. These plugs are available in a number of different patterns to further increase security between neighboring municipalities. The key socket for the plugs is designed to be used with a standard 3/8” drive ratchet wrench, and can only be purchased by water utilities. Plugs and key sockets are sold separately. These products meet compliance with both CSA and OSHA standards: CAN/CSA-Z460-05 (r2010) – OSHA 1910.147.
